Over 2 years in development, and in use in many of the best electrophysiology laboratories in the world since 2009, our ISO type holders offer electrophysiologists precision engineered holders with the highest mechanical stability and low noise. This type offers major improvements over the original, low drift, DB type that virtually eliminate pipette movement and air leakage. A longer barrel allows for the insertion of a small polycarbonate cylinder between the two O-rings which keeps everything rigid. The cylinder is precision milled at both ends to hold the O-rings in place.
Our ISO and DEO types have 5 types of fitting:
S - Screw fitting for Axon HLU type headstages (including CV-203BU, CV-7A/B, HS-9A), Warner Instruments' QSW-TxxP
P - Push fit for Axon HL-1 type headstages (including CV201A / 201AU)
H - BNC connector type for HEKA Co. headstages and some NPI and Dagan amplifiers
HS2A - push fit for Axon HS2A headstages.
CV7A - SMA fitting for the obsolete Axon/PatchMaster CV-7A large brass headstage.
The ISO type holders are available for 4 diameters of electrode glass:
1.0mm OD
1.2mm OD
1.5mm OD
1.7mm OD *special order*
Because the holders are engineered for discrete sizes of pipette glass we can ensure lower drift than those from other manufacturers whose holders can accommodate multiple sizes.
For 2.0mm OD electrode glass for dendritic recordings we produce the DEO type holder. Please note that the parts of the DEO type are NOT interchangeable with our ISO range. This holder is custom made; please email sales@g23instruments.com for delivery times.

The DEO minimal drift micro electrode holder has been produced for patching dendrites using 2.0mm OD glass.
